It's in the Genes

Andrew joined the track club at his school and loved every minute of it. Here he is running his first ever timed mile. He started out really fast, and actually had the lead for the first two laps, but then he started to die. Oh and on a side note that is our house in the back of the picture. So nice to have the school right in your backyard.

I loved watching him run, the kid gives it everything he's got. After his race, which he came in 4th, he sat down by me and started to cry. When I finally got it out of him, what was wrong he said, "I'm just so tired." Got to love a kid who will leave it all out on the field.

He next ran the 200, love his face.

His next track meet was the next day. Here he is running the 800. Yep, that's Andrew right out in front.

Look at that stride.

He came in second, and qualified for the district meet the next week. He did so awesome.

Here he is running the 100, not the fasted, but I love how kids run all out. Who cares about form, just run.

His final event was the 50 meter hurdles. He did awesome his first race, but forgot his time, so he had to run it again with the 6th graders, and did really well.

The district meet was yesterday, he ended up getting 5th for the 800 out of 6 schools, so we were really proud of him. He bet his PR, and that is what it is all about. Caleb can't wait for his turn to join next year.
